Shaping Brighter Futures: SOS Africa's 2024 Milestones

As a sponsor of SOS Africa, we have many reasons to be proud and optimistic at the start of this new year. The children and staff across all SOS Africa programmes are safe, well, and have resumed their educational journey, with noticeable growth and development among the students.

Significant progress is evident in the SOS Africa Grabouw Education Programme. The introduction of English language Grade R in the school, a first in its history, has allowed eight new children to join the programme. This expansion brings the total number of children sponsored by SOS Africa to 107, spread across 12 schools in three different South African regions. This achievement highlights the impact our sponsorship contribution has.

The successful implementation of Grade R at Grabouw was made possible by this support, these efforts helped fund two prefabricated classrooms, which were delivered and assembled. These new facilities represent a tangible contribution to the community, and an official opening ceremony is planned to celebrate this milestone.

This year, SOS Africa is also celebrating the upcoming graduation of nine Matric students from its four education programmes. We have played a crucial role in nurturing these students from their early years in the programme to becoming role models who are on the verge of completing high school.

Finally, the imminent opening of the new Gordon's Bay Education Centre is a landmark event, coinciding with the charity's 21st anniversary. This project, which involved two years of planning and six months of refurbishment and construction, is a testament to the dedication and support. The new centre promises to be a significant addition to SOS Africa's capabilities.
